Bitcoin Runs Short on Time for April $80,000 Push

Bitcoin's April push toward $80,000 has run out of room. The month is nearly over, and the cryptocurrency has not built the kind of late momentum needed to reach that threshold before the April 30 deadline.

The problem is timing. Bitcoin can still move sharply, but the remaining window is now measured in days, not weeks, and the asset would need a decisive break from its recent range to make the target plausible.

The related Polymarket contract now sits at 10.5%, down from 30.5% over the past day. That 20 percentage point move reflects how quickly expectations changed once the calendar became the central constraint.

Activity around the question was heavy, with $819,024.34 traded in the last day. The contract is no longer just about whether Bitcoin can rally; it is about whether that rally can happen before the deadline closes.

The $80,000 mark would have carried symbolic weight for the cryptocurrency. A print there before the end of April would have reinforced the idea that institutional demand could still drive a fast upside move on demand.

Instead, the setup has become more cautious. Bitcoin has spent the month working against resistance rather than building a clean breakout, and the final stretch leaves little margin for hesitation.

The target is not mathematically impossible, but the path is narrow. It would require sustained buying pressure and a catalyst strong enough to compress what had been a multi-week thesis into the final days of April.

For now, the April rally story is fading into a timing story. Bitcoin may still carry momentum into May, but the $80,000 deadline is no longer the clean test it looked like earlier in the month.
