The International Monetary Fund's Portwatch platform will provide transit calls data to measure shipping activity in the Strait of Hormuz. The data will serve as the reference for determining whether traffic has returned to normal.
The platform offers both chart visualizations and downloadable files for the Strait of Hormuz transit calls. This data allows comparison of current vessel movements against historical patterns.
The Portwatch dataset tracks ships passing through the critical chokepoint. It is designed to monitor real-time changes in maritime traffic.
The next data update from Portwatch will be used to assess whether normal traffic has resumed by July 15.
That date marks the target for confirming normalization through the IMF platform's official figures.
