Sri Lanka Women defeated Ireland Women by two wickets in the fourth match of Group 2 at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, held June 23 at the County Ground in Bristol.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first. Ireland posted 143 for seven in their 20 overs, with opener Gaby Lewis top-scoring with 42 runs. Sri Lanka's Kavisha Dilhari took three wickets for 24 runs.
In reply, Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu anchored the chase with 68 runs off 48 balls, hitting 10 fours and two sixes. Sri Lanka reached the target of 144 in 19.2 overs, losing eight wickets. Orla Prendergast took two wickets for 24 runs for Ireland.
The victory marked Sri Lanka's second consecutive win in Group 2, following an upset over defending champions New Zealand. Ireland remains without a win in the group stage.
